Five Flavours On Tour

The 7th edition of Five Flavours Film Festival starts on 4th November, 2013.

Besides the Warsaw's edition, this year's programme travels to Wroclaw and a selected location, where interesting film events are rare but local cinema can bring delicious bites of culture to the local audience.Kino Nowe Horyzonty cinema in Wroclaw hosts selected titles from Warsaw's programme from 8th to 14th November. The Wroclaw's programme focuses primarily on titles from New Asian Cinema and Focus: Hongkong sections. Highly acclaimed Korean drama "Jiseul" is among the films representing new films and further titles included in the programme will be announced by mid-September.

But Warsaw and Wroclaw, well-known cities to all cinema fans in Poland, will not be only spots on the Five Flavour's map this year.
To make Asian cinema accessible also outside bigger cultural centres, Five Flavours announced a new film project this year.

FIVE FLAVOURS ON TOURis dedicated to local cinemas and cultural centres interested in presenting a selection of 7-8 titles included in the programme of this year's festival.
Among the films included in the tour programme is Sri Lankan drama "With You, Without You", inspired by Fiodor Dostoyevsky's "A Gentle Creature", and "Longing for the Rain" which explores patriarchal hierarchy in the society of modern China.
Besides, Hong Kong is represented by two sets of short films presented as Fresh Wave programme.

With You, Without You

The location is chosen by application and it will be announced on 9th September, 2013.
Any cinema or cultural centre interested in co-organising a special Asian film showcase is invited to submit the application with the proposal by 2nd September, 2013.
Because of non-profit character of the event, the income generated from the ticket sales must be spent directly on the costs related to organising the screenings: promotion, shipping of the film prints, technical preparations, among others.

The applicants are also expected to include their local context in the programme. It could involve for example special workshops, happenings, meetings with local film experts and/or representatives of Asian communities. This part of the project should have an educational dimension and play a crucial role for integrating the local community.

The selected cinema is supported by Five Flavours to organise the showcase: the festival provides the local organisers with the screening licences and Polish subtitles along with general help to organise and promote the screenings.
